Located in the south of the ancient city of Lijiang, Mu Mansion is the residence of the chieftains of the Mu family of Lijiang in the past. Now Mufu is a symbol of the ancient city, attracting countless tourists to come here to appreciate it.

Although the Mufu Palace is the Tusi Palace, its magnificence is not inferior to the royal family. It is said that it was "built in imitation of the Forbidden City" in its heyday, and there were more than 100 palace houses in its heyday. Walking along the stone road at Guanmenkou, the first thing that catches your eyes is the wooden archway of "Tianyu Liufang". Turn around the wooden archway, and on the right hand side is an exquisitely carved stone archway with the word "loyalty" written on it. At that time, the stone archway had a magnificent structure and exquisite carvings, and the folks praised it as "Dali Three Pagoda Temple, Lijiang Stone Archway".

Stepping into the majestic red gate of the Mu Mansion, the central axis is lined up with the meeting hall, Wanjuan building, Dharma protection hall, Guangbi building, Yuyin building, Sanqing hall and other buildings, all of which are exquisite. On both sides of the central axis, there are more than 160 houses, including supporting halls, attics, street-crossing buildings, courtyards, official posts, and promenades.

The meeting hall is dignified and majestic, and it is the place where the chieftain of the Mu family in Lijiang discusses politics; the Wanjuan Building is the expression of the chieftain's admiration for culture. There are many cultural treasures such as calligraphy and painting of famous scholars; the Dharma Protector Hall, also known as the Houyi Hall, is a place where Mu Tusi discusses family affairs; It is also located in this building where the imperial decree was received; the Sanqing Hall is the product of Mu's chieftain advocating the Taoist spirit, and it is also a witness of the close connection between the Naxi people and the civilization of the Central Plains. After the tour, the Loyalty Archway outside the gate of Mufu, the "Tianyu Liufang" archway and the Zhaobi written with Xu Xiake's words are good places to take pictures.

After hundreds of years of splendor, most of Mufu was destroyed in the war in the late Qing Dynasty, and the remaining part was also severely damaged in the 1996 Lijiang earthquake. Although it is rebuilt, it does not prevent it from becoming a representative building in Lijiang Old Town. The TV series "The Wind and Cloud in the Wooden House" and "The King of Money" were filmed here. Visiting Lijiang without looking at Mufu is almost the same as not coming to Lijiang.
