Mulan Cemetery - China Travel

Hua Mulan Mausoleum is located at the foot of Wanhua Mountain in Yan'an City. The cemetery is built along the mountain. Pines and cypresses are planted all over the garden. The environment is elegant and the scenery is beautiful. The big characters "Tomb of General Hua" engraved on his tombstone were written by the famous calligrapher Shu Tong. There is a statue of Hua Mulan in front of the tomb. Hua Mulan rides a war horse, wears armor, and holds a sword in her right hand, recreating the heroic appearance of the year. According to legend, Hua Mulan lived in Huayuan Village at the foot of Wanhua Mountain. The daughter disguised herself as a man and joined the army in place of her father to fight on the battlefield. After the victory of the war, Hua Mulan returned to her hometown and lived here until her death. After Mulan died, she was buried on the mountain next to the village, called "Huajialing". There are stone steps under the tomb, and there are stone men, stone horses, stone lions and stone sheep on both sides.
