Muztagh Peak is located at the junction of Akto County, Xinjiang and Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County, with an altitude of about 7,500 meters. The top of Muztag Peak is covered with white snow, like a head full of white hair, and more than ten glaciers are inlaid in the canyon under the peak body, like silver whiskers fluttering on the chest, so it has the reputation of "father of iceberg". At an altitude of 4,500 meters, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the glacier, such as the forest of seracs, icicles, ice caves, etc. It is a spectacle. Alpine camping here is something that every outdoor lover wants to experience.
Muztag Peak is majestic, pure and elegant, and because of such a beautiful legend, it is regarded by the Tajik people as a symbol of pure love. According to legend, there lived an iceberg princess on Muztagh Peak, and she fell in love with a Snow Mountain prince who lived on the opposite Khogri Peak at an altitude of 8,611 meters. The two connected mountain peaks were opened, and a pair of sincere lovers, the Iceberg Princess and the Snow Mountain Prince, were separated. The iceberg princess misses the snow mountain prince all day long, and her tears keep gushing out, forming glaciers. When the weather is fine, the snow-capped peaks carry the glaciers stretching below the snow line, just like the flowing white dress and long sleeves of a glacier princess.

As a general tourist, there are several ways to visit Muztagh Peak:
1. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of mountains and lakes by Karakul Lake.
2. Play around Karakul Lake.
3. Climbing to Glacier No. 4.
(1) If you want to go to the No. 4 glacier, it is recommended to rent an off-road vehicle to enter the mountain, and ordinary vehicles cannot enter the mountain.
(2) It takes 4-8 hours to climb the No. 4 glacier according to the physical strength of the individual.
(3) A large pot of hot water, sunglasses, hiking boots or thick hiking shoes, fleece jackets, and waterproof underwear are essential.
(4) If you see a shiny ice surface under the snow, don't go, so as not to fall.
(5) Be sure to remember the way up the mountain without the locals leading the way, so as not to get lost when returning.
If you want to challenge mountaineering, the best time is from early July to mid-July, and the climbing time is 7-15 days according to your physical fitness. Muztagh Peak is very steep. Apart from choosing a good time, there are many places to prepare, such as physical training and so on.
