Founded in 1853 (the third year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty), it is commonly known as Luzu Temple. It is a large-scale Han Buddhist temple in Inner Mongolia and the center of Han Buddhist activities in Baotou. It is a historical witness of the early development of Baotou city.
It was rebuilt on a large scale in 1992, and the temple looks solemn and magnificent. The west side of Miaofa Zen Temple is east, and the buildings in the courtyard are distributed in the middle, left and right. , Ksitigarbha Hall, Patriarch Hall, and Sutra Library; on the left, there are Buddhist Halls and Thousand Buddha Halls; on the right, there are Five Hundred Arhat Halls, VIP Building, etc. In 1873 (the 12th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty), the "New Miaofa Temple" stele, 1884 (the 10th year of Guangxu) built the stage stele of Miaofa Temple, the iron bell of Miaofa Temple, the top belt of Huai Lian (Huai Army) Datong General Zhang Shuping and the Prime Minister's Battalion Lin Chengxing of the Affairs Office cast the iron stove for burning calligraphy and paper for Miaofa Temple, and the stone plaque inscribed by Lin Chengxing "Tiao Yu Da Fu" (one of the Buddha's names).
