The Nianchu River is in Shigatse City, east of the city's resident. It originates from the northern foothills of the Himalayas and is a major tributary of the Yarlung Zangbo River. Nianchu River means "tasting water". According to legend, the vase holding nectar held by Master Lianhuasheng was placed at Ningjingang Sang Snow Mountain.
