The Nuomenhan War Site is located 60 kilometers south of Amugulang Town, where the New Barhu Left Banner is located. During World War II, a "Manchurian" Mongolian border war broke out that shocked the world on both sides of the middle and lower reaches of the Halha River in the Nomenhambuld area of the New Balhu Left Banner in Hulunbeier City. A local regular war - the Nomonhan War.

The two sides invested more than 200,000 soldiers, more than 500 cannons, more than 900 aircraft, and thousands of armored vehicles on the battlefield, resulting in more than 60,000 casualties, including 54,000 Japanese casualties. It was unprecedented in the world military history at that time, and it can be said that it was a very early large-scale three-dimensional war in the world.

In this war, Unit 731 of the Japanese Kwantung Army applied biological weapons to actual combat (germ warfare) for the first time, but suffered a disastrous defeat and was forced to cease fighting and make peace. Japanese historians called this war "the greatest defeat in the history of the Japanese Army."

The site is now divided into four functional areas: the main reception area, the military entertainment area, the military exhibition area, and the comprehensive service area. The exterior design of the exhibition hall is a sealed bunker shape with a frame structure, and the main body is a four-story building. The overall tone of the exhibition in the museum is dominated by rock-like dignified gray, supplemented by strong metallic colors, which faithfully reflect the war scenes and political situation of the year. In terms of form, high-tech means such as sound, light, and electricity are used to arrange the exhibition, which will achieve an immersive sensory effect.
