The Nujiang Grand Canyon is located in the area of three parallel rivers in the Hengduan Mountains. The Yunnan section is more than 300 kilometers long and has an average depth of 2,000 meters. The 3,500-meter deep section is located in the Bingzhongluo area of Gongshan, Yunnan, and is known as the "Oriental Grand Canyon".
On both sides of the Nujiang River are the towering Gaoligong Mountains and Biluo Snow Mountains. The mountains are steep and steep. In the canyons live more than a dozen ethnic minorities such as the Lisu, Dulong, Nu, and Pumi. Due to the lack of people, the ancient folk customs are still preserved. The "bathhouse party" during the Spring Festival every year is a relatively lively time in the canyon. Young men and women from the surrounding villages gather together, singing and dancing all night long.
The winter scenery of the Nujiang Canyon is very spectacular. The snow-capped mountains on both sides are covered in white, the Nujiang River is green and gentle, and the primeval forest is colorful, forming a wonderful picture. The main landscapes are: Lishadi Stone Moon, Moon Mountain, Maji Cliff, Bingzhongluo Shimen Pass, Lawuya Waterfall, Zileng Mother and Daughter Peak, etc.
