Lintao is located in the western part of China, on the middle and upper reaches of the Yellow River. It is located between 103°29' to 104°19' east longitude and 35°03'42'' to 35°56'46'' north latitude, on the western edge of the Longxi Basin, east of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, central Gansu, and west of Dingxi City. Most of this place is located on the second level of China's terrain, belonging to the central area of the Qilian Mountains. There are many basins in this area, with strong neotectonic activities and obvious geothermal anomalies. Lintao Hot Spring belongs to the northern part of the Erlin Basin, with a proven water storage capacity of more than 3 billion tons, sustainable 100 years of development.
On June 16, 2017, Lintao Hot Spring Well 1# was officially drilled, and finally produced water on October 10, 2017. The depth of the well was 2,205 meters, and the temperature of the discharged water was >75°C. On March 28, 2018, it passed the acceptance of the expert group. Assessed by the expert group, the Lintao 1# well is a high-quality hot spring well.
Lintao hot spring water is taken from the Caledonian period and dolomite deep circulation underground hot water hundreds of millions of years ago. The water temperature is higher than 75 ℃, which is a non-volcanic high-temperature hot spring. Because Lintao Hot Spring is a pure original soup hot spring, the spring water is yellowish brown, so it is also called "golden soup".
