Ordos Museum is located in the central area of Kangbashi New District, Ordos City. It is one of the seven major cultural buildings in Ordos planned and constructed. The museum has one basement floor, four floors above ground, and eight floors partially. It is a comprehensive museum integrating cultural relics exhibition, collection, and office.

The Ordos Museum is designed by MAD Architects. It looks like a flying stone from the sky. The solid stone symbolizes eternity, and the bronze-colored metal exterior records the long-standing culture of Ordos. The facade of the entire building is composed of irregular hyperboloids, with a slanted glass skylight on the top, and the audience enters the building through the gradually shrinking bell mouth. The armor-shaped stainless steel plates on both sides give people the feeling of traveling through time and space. At night, under the background of landscape lights, it looks like a luminous stone, dazzling.

The exhibition of the museum takes Genghis Khan and Ordos Mongolian culture as the main line, and according to the context of the development of the ancient Mongolian era, it is divided into sequence halls, "the homeland that Genghis Khan favored", "Ordos in the Qing Dynasty", "the awakening of the people of Ordos", "gorgeous Colorful folk customs" four units.

In the "Homeland Genghis Khan Fancy" section, Genghis Khan's journey of conquest is vividly reproduced, and the old iron pieces can still feel the urgency of the flames of war. In the unit of "Ordos in the Qing Dynasty", you can appreciate the local conditions and customs of Ordos from the aspects of economy, culture and religion. Among them, the Buddha statues unearthed in the Qing Dynasty are typical representatives of religious culture. The "Brilliant and Colorful Folk Customs" unit takes Genghis Khan's cultural influence on Ordos as the background, and shows people the Ordos sacrificial culture and folk culture with Genghis Khan's sacrifice as the core.
