Panjiayuan is a well-known flea market in the country. It deals in various cultural relics, calligraphy and painting, four treasures of the study, porcelain and wooden furniture, etc. There are more than 3,000 stalls in total. People from 24 provinces and cities across the country set up stalls here, and there are many ethnic minorities here. They operate their own national products, so besides food, the commodities they operate can be said to be varied. It attracts a large number of Chinese and foreign tourists every day. On the opening day of the weekend, the number of visitors reached 60,000 to 70,000, including nearly 10,000 foreign guests. Tourists of different skin colors, languages and beliefs mingle here.
It is also a well-known distribution center for folk handicrafts in the country, including snuff bottles from Hengshui, New Year pictures from Yangliuqing, embroidery from Jiangsu, wood carvings from Dongyang, stone carvings from Quyang, shadow puppetry from Shandong, porcelain and crystal ornaments from Jiangxi, purple sand from Yixing, and Bronze ware, clothing from Yunnan, white jade from Xinjiang, etc.
