It is commonly known as "Tianzhu Xiaojiangnan". It is more than 80 kilometers away from the county seat and is one of the fourteen temples in Tianzhu.


Tiantang Temple is called "Quediantang Zhaxi Dajilang" in Tibetan, which means the auspicious and prosperous island of Pagoda Beach, and its Chinese translation is "Chaotiantang", also known as Tiantang Temple. It was built more than 800 years earlier than Labrang Monastery. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, Danma Cicheng Gyatso of Qinghai Huzhu Ganchan Temple changed Tiantang Temple into a Gelugpa monastery. In the fourth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1647 A.D.), at the request of Danma Cicheng Gyatso and the local Moke, Duocang, Jiadou and other tribes, the fourth Daju Gyatso Hutuktu of Dongke Temple in Huangyuan, Qinghai was expanded He entered Tiantang Temple and served as the head of the temple.

There are more than 1,000 monks in Tiantang Temple, commonly known as "Eight Hundred Monks in Heaven". Its architectural layout is reasonable, magnificent and solemn, with a strong Tibetan style. The whole temple covers an area of ​​1,500 mu, with more than 2,000 monks' houses and more than 4,000 rooms. The scripture halls include the Great Sutra Hall, Thousand Buddha Hall, Tantric Hall, Bodhisattva Hall, Buddha Mother Hall, Lion Body Buddha Mother Hall, Manjusri Hall, Tuzhu Hall, Sakyamuni Hall, and Dragon King Hall.
