The Kongque River is also called the Yinma River. It is said that Banchao in the Eastern Han Dynasty once drank horses here, so it is called. The Kongque River is a rare tributary-free water system. Its source comes from Bosten Lake, overflows from the west of the lake, flows through Korla and Yuli counties, and ends at Lop Nur. Due to agricultural development, it flows through Daxihaizi Reservoir seasonally. Kongque River is a poetic name. In Xinjiang, it is extremely rare for a city like Korla to have a river passing through the city. But for many years, the citizens of Korla have not enjoyed the beauty of the Kongque River, and the Uighur villagers living on both sides call it "Cobbler River".
