Pingliang Ancient Gorge is located in Pingliang Village, Dafengdong Township, Kaili, Guizhou, 50 kilometers away from the urban area. The Chong'an River originates from the cave along the west side of the Majiang River and enters the ancient gorge in front of Pingliang Village. There are cliffs on both sides of the ancient gorge, which are magnificent. The river in the gorge is turbulent and the waves are tumbling, with a flow of more than 10 miles, so it is also called Shili ancient gorge.
At the mouth of the ancient gorge, there is Luotuofeng on the right and Baibiyan on the left. The two peaks face each other, covering the sky and the sun, just like the two gates of the ancient gorge, hiding the river in the deep canyon. Once entering the ancient gorge, there is a cool breeze. There is a deep cave halfway up Baibiyan, where monkeys often come and go. Baiyantang under Baibiyan is a pond in the middle of the river, with a water depth of 30 to 40 meters, where the river flows in a maelstrom.
