Princess Wencheng Temple is located in Bainagou, south of Jiegu Town, with an altitude of more than 3,700 meters, an area of more than 80 square meters, and a height of 13 meters. It is built on the cliff. The Buddhist hall is exquisite, quiet and elegant. The main Buddha statue enshrined in the Buddhist hall is called "Jueerangba Nuozze" in Tibetan. According to legend, this Buddha statue has the same blessing power as the Sakyamuni statue enshrined in the Jokhang Temple. It has a history of more than 1,300 years.
The main Buddha, standing in the center and about 8 meters high, is dignified, steady, quiet and kind, sitting in lotus posture with two lions in lotus. The shapes and costumes of the remaining eight Bodhisattvas have both the style of the early Tubo and the artistic characteristics of the Central Plains in the early Tang Dynasty. On the rock wall near the Buddhist hall, there are neatly engraved Buddhist scriptures in both Tibetan and Chinese, the Sutra of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, the Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra, as well as multi-line Sanskrit and Chinese, pagoda, and six-character scriptures. Mantra etc. Under the cliff 20 meters to the right of the Buddhist hall, there is a spring as clear as a mirror, called Princess Spring. According to legend, Princess Wencheng washed herself by the spring during her stay here.
This Buddhist hall is a relatively grand and precious historical and cultural relic left by Princess Wencheng when she entered Tibet in the 15th year of Zhenguan in Tang Dynasty (641 AD). A statue was built on the stone wall to show his nostalgia, so a temple was built. This temple has become a symbol of Tibetan-Han unity, and a Buddhist hall where believers pay homage. The incense is lingering and lasts for a long time. The local Tibetans regard this place as the "Cave Heaven and Paradise" on the Yushu Plateau.
