Pudacuo National Park is located in the central area of the Great Shangri-La Scenic Area. It is an important part of the World Natural Heritage "Three Parallel Rivers", consisting of Bitahai Lake, Shudu Lake and Militang Subalpine Ranch.(from2017Year9moon3Starting today, the core scenic spot of Bitahai and the Militang sub-alpine pasture will be closed and stop receiving tourists).
The two main lakes in the park: Shudu Lake and Bita Lake are located on the north and south sides of the park, more than 10 kilometers apart. Between the two lakes, there are scenic spots such as Luorong Village and Militang Grassland. Due to the long distance, tourists generally take environmentally friendly sightseeing cars and travel according to the driving route.
At the entrance, take the scenic spot environmental protection sightseeing car, and you can arrive at Shudu Lake Scenic Area in about 20 minutes. The water of Shudu Lake is clear and blue, and there is a stretch of plateau pastures beside the lake. In spring and summer, wild flowers bloom on the pastures, which is very beautiful. In the early morning of winter, the water vapor on the lake condenses like a layer of white mist on the water surface. Only by taking the first bus early in the morning can you enjoy this wonderful sight. There is a walking plank road along the lake in the pasture, and it takes about an hour to complete a circle. At the end of the plank road is the environmental protection station. After the tour, get on the train and arrive at the next destination.
The next stop of the eco-car is Militang Grassland, which is flat and open. The eco-car continues to move forward and will pass the park tourist service station. There is a Sangcuoka restaurant here. Although the conditions are average, the price is not cheap. But if you are really tired and hungry and don't bring your own dry food, you can only have lunch here and take a rest by the way.
Bitahai is the last stop of the eco-car route and the highlight of this trip. Bitahai means "a lake made of oak trees" in Tibetan. As the name suggests, the oak trees beside the lake are as dense as a green felt. There are a lot of rhododendrons growing in the oak forest. When the flowers bloom in warm spring every May and June, the rhododendron petals fall into the water, and the fish eat the slightly poisonous rhododendrons and float to the surface one after another. This is the famous scene of Bitahai: Rhododendron Drunken fish. There is also a plank road on the shore of Bitahai Lake. Walk along the plank road slowly to reach the lakeside wharf. There are cruise ships in the lake, and you can visit the mountains and waters around the lake.
