introduce

Qiandu Yangtze River Art Museum is located on the former site of Changjiang Village in the northeast of Taiyuan. The wave of urbanization has flattened the history of Changjiang Village for more than 70 years and its natural terrain. With the historical changes of the village in the city, a large number of high-rise residential buildings have been built. Life brings disruptive changes. Changjiang Art Museum was designed by Dong Gong, the founder of Vector Architects. Covering an area of 1,100㎡ and a construction area of 3,900㎡, it consists of two functions: art display and commercial operation. As the main function, the art display is placed on the upper part of the building, and the skylight is used to diffuse the overall circular and coherent display space to maximize the vitality of the exhibits. The auxiliary commercial functions are placed on the ground floor of the building to connect with the block. The original design intention of Qiandu Yangtze River Art Museum is to use the new community public facilities "Yangtze River Art Museum" to present village memories and fragments of traditional life, and show them to people who continue to live here. Through the art museum, we can present the very important village memories and traditional life in Taiyuan's urban memory, and at the same time, through the form of art exhibitions, we can interact with urban residents and become a place that can represent Taiyuan's cultural and artistic exchanges.
