Qingtang City Ruins Park is a park built on the south part of the Nantan ancient city wall, which is a part of the south city wall of Qingtang City, built in 1034. In the Tang Dynasty, it was called Shancheng. After the Anshi Rebellion, Tubo recaptured Shancheng from the Tang Dynasty. Because of the towering green mountains around the city, it was named Qingtang City.

Qingtang City is the capital of the Jisiluo regime. It is 10 kilometers around the city and has 8 gates. It is divided into east and west cities. The west city is the royal city, where palaces, temples, military and government agencies, and noble houses are located; the east city is a commercial area, where business travelers from all over the world gather here, and there are many shops. There are hundreds of merchants in Khotan and Huihe There are so many, it is extremely prosperous. During the period when the Xixia Kingdom controlled the Hexi Corridor, it was also an important town on the South Silk Road and the Tang-Fan Ancient Road. In the 19th year of Hongwu, Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty, Qingtang City was abandoned after the northern half of the original Qingtang City was rebuilt into the Acropolis of Xining.

This section of the Qingtang City ruins is located on the South Ring Road on the south side of the South Gate Wai Stadium in Xining City. It is about 300 meters long. The relics are left to future generations to search for the past of the ancient city of Xining.
