Ranwu Lake is located in Basu on National Highway 318. It is the main source of the Palong Zangbo River, a tributary of the Yarlung Zangbo River, with a length of about 25 kilometers. The whole lake is in the shape of a narrow and long valley, with a width of 12 kilometers. It is composed of three lakes connected up and down. It is more than 3,800 meters above sea level and has beautiful scenery.

On the north side of Ranwu Lake is the famous Laigu Glacier, which extends to the edge of the lake. Whenever the ice and snow melt, the snow water is poured into the lake, so that there is always a rich source of water here.

By the lakeside of Ranwu Lake is a large green grassy meadow, covered with bright chamaejasma chamaejasma, together with the blue lake water and snow-capped peaks, forming a beautiful scenery. According to different seasons, the lake water also presents several colors such as blue or green, and many rocks and small islands are dotted among them.
