In Linzhou County, northeast of Lhasa, it is one of the ancient temples in Tibet. The temple site is located on the mountainside, with green cypresses, singing birds, and gurgling springs around it, making it an ideal place for Buddhist practice. The temple was founded in the first year of Jiayou (1056) in the Northern Song Dynasty by Zhongdunba (1005-1064), a disciple of Atisha and the founder of Kadampa, and it is the first monastery of Kadampa.
At the beginning of the 15th century, he converted to the Gelug Sect and belonged to the Sera Monastery. The main buildings include Tsochin Hall, Rezhen Rajang and so on. The silver-cast pagoda of Master Atisha is also here. During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, Ngawang Qu, a scripture teacher, was appointed as the khenpo of the temple, and he was the ancestor of the Rezhen line. The present temple has been destroyed, only ruins remain.
The temple site is located on the mountainside, surrounded by ancient cypresses and gurgling streams, and there are winding trails connecting with the mountain. It is an ancient temple of Tibetan Buddhism and a tourist attraction with beautiful scenery and tranquility.
