Ruili is located in the same mining belt as the Burmese gemstone production area in the world, and stories of local residents finding extremely high-value gemstones are widely circulated. In 1998, a new gem-enriched mine was discovered on the Ruili side of this mineral belt in China. According to the survey team of the 4th Geological Brigade of the Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources, there are red and blue corundum, red spinel, Ziyawu and other gemstones. The samples were processed and identified by the Gem Research Office of China Geological Museum and the Gem Research and Appraisal Office of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources. Within 1KM2 of the assessed mining area, the scale of the flood alluvial deposit is relatively large, and gem minerals can be seen in the gravel layer, especially in the middle of the river (where the current Taobao site is located), where the content of various gem minerals is high. According to this discovery, with the approval of relevant departments, Ruili City has launched a new special tourism project with luck and participation in China - Travel Taobao. Tourists participate in Taobao and use the specified tools to search for gemstones. The raw gemstones they find can be appraised by specially hired Burmese gemstone processors and processed on site into gemstone products such as rings, necklaces, and bracelets. The opportunities hidden in Taobao make it possible for participants to become lucky at any time, which is a lot of fun.
