Saizong Temple is located in the southwest of Xinghai County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, at the foot of Saizong Mountain, 18 kilometers west of Sangdang Township. Located in the central part of Xinghai County, Saizong Mountain is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in Amdo Tibetan Area. The mountain is full of ravines, caves, pines and cypresses, verdant and beautiful. Legend has it that Master Padmasambhava, the founder of the Nyingma School, Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelug School, and the first eminent monk of Longwu Temple, Xia Ri Tsang Gadan Gyatso, all successively moved here and left relics.
