The Zuohai Heijiao Temple was founded in the year of the water tiger before the first Shengsheng in the Tibetan calendar, with a history of 900 years. The founder of the temple is Zexiu master Zhuwang Dunni Shapur, who is honored as the great Zen master Yongzhong Jiacan. The teachings practiced by Zuohai Heijiao Temple are mainly the "Nine Vehicle Teachings", "Four Gates", "Five Zangs" and other internal and external esoteric methods taught by Xin Rao, the founder of the primitive religion of Bon in Tibet.

The main ceremonies of Zuohai Heijiao Temple are: every year on the 15th day of the first lunar month in spring, a wish analysis ceremony and a Buddhist ceremony are held; in summer, a practice ceremony is held and a summer sitting is held; in winter, disaster relief rituals and Dharma dances are held. In addition, insisting on cultivating secrets and secrets, the temple often holds puming, pukong, pharmacist, time wheel and other pujas; in the first and second ten days of each month, rituals for long-term goodness and purification of evil are held.

There is a large scripture hall in Zuohai Temple, which enshrines several large Buddha statues of the ancestors of the Bon religion, the sixteen arhats and the portraits of the scrolls, and more than 200 scriptures such as the Tibetan scriptures "Kanjuer". The gate tower and skylight of the scripture hall are covered with red and black flags, which is more mysterious and dark than other temples. The temple currently has more than 30 monks and more than 30 monk houses. Its scripture hall, monk's house and some religious activities can be visited by tourists.
