Saikagutuo Temple is located 50 kilometers south of Luozha County, Tibet Autonomous Region. The seat faces east from west, square in plane, surrounded by walls, 98 meters long from east to west, and 48 meters wide from north to south. The main hall in the temple is the Great Buddha Hall called Gawa Jiuni. In the center of the temple, there is a nine-storey watchtower up to 28 meters high, with a golden roof and other buildings such as monks' houses.

Around 1080 AD, it was founded by the famous Tibetan Buddhist master Marpa and his disciple Milarepa. At the beginning, there were only nine-story square watchtowers and the Kawaguni Buddha Hall. In the 12th century, the monastery was repaired. In the 16th century, the master of Buddhist studies, Bajozula Chenwa, continued to build the sutra hall, monk's house and surrounding walls, and added a golden roof to the watchtower. The temple preserves the legacy of the Kagyu School of Tibetan Buddhism and the murals of figures, as well as the early murals of the Tibetan Mendang School of Painting and Tubo scriptures. The buildings and cultural relics in the temple have very important historical, cultural and artistic value.
