Shaanxi Huangling National Forest Park is located in the Qiaoshan forest area 40 kilometers southwest of Huangling County, on the upper reaches of the Ju River (known as Jishui in ancient times). The park has dense forests, elegant and pleasant environment, peculiar and typical landforms, and a humid climate. The cultural landscape resources with the Yellow Emperor culture as the main thread have a long history and attract the attention of the world. Baiyaogou is known as the "Valley of Medicine" on the Loess Plateau. It is rich in Chinese herbal medicine resources. According to legend, it is the place where the Yellow Emperor planted hundreds of grains of grass and trees. There are more than 200 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines in the valley. It is said that Sun Simiao, the king of medicine, often collects herbs here to help the common people. The "Jianglong Gorge" in the valley is said to be the place where Xuanyuan Huangdi was born. "Wan Juan Shu", also known as "Nei Jing Stone", is the place where the Yellow Emperor and Qi Bo talked about medicine and Taoism and wrote down books. The natural landscapes such as Ten Mile Pine Corridor and Butterfly Valley are strange, magical and spectacular. "Qin Zhidao" passes through the west of the park. After more than 2,000 years of wind and rain, part of the road is still well preserved.
In the South Valley of the scenic spot, there are the thousand-year-old temple and the ruins of the Zi'e Temple. The central axis of the Daxiong Palace is just on the "prime meridian" and belongs to the royal temple. There are grottoes excavated in the Northern Wei Dynasty in the temple. The Buddha statues are lifelike. The "Princess Chaoyang" of the Tang Dynasty once came here to offer incense.
The Mengjiatai, Yangjiazhuang, Shuidanping, Shaoguoyuan and other Northern Song Dynasty Yangjiatun army training sites near Zi'e Temple and the park scenic spot rely on each other and complement each other. When visiting the park, you can not only appreciate the natural scenery, watch rare animals and plants, but also appreciate the great pioneering work of the ancient working people, and fully enjoy the Zhitu cultural relics and historic sites.
