Shandan Army Horse Farm is located in the middle of the Hexi Corridor, on the Damaying Grassland at the northern foot of Lenglongling in the Qilian Mountains. It spans two provinces in Gansu and Qinghai, and is adjacent to three cities (states) and six counties, with a total area of ​​3.2954 million mu. It was originally the second largest military horse farm in the world, and it occupied the first place after the disintegration of the Don River Horse Farm in the former Soviet Union. The Shandan Army Horse Farm is flat, with lush water and grass, and is an ideal place for horses to reproduce and grow. Its history can be traced back to 121 BC, and it was founded by Huo Qubing, a hussar general of the Western Han Dynasty. Shandan Army Horse Farm has been under the management of the army since its establishment in September 1949. It is the largest and largest army horse breeding base in my country and even in Asia, and it is also the largest grain, oil and meat production base in our army.
