It has a huge indoor clay statue of sitting Buddha. Shandan Great Buddha Temple was called Tufo Temple in history. It is located about 5 kilometers west of the county seat of Shandan County. It is backed by high mountains. It is an ancient temple built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. It is famous for its indoor clay sculpture of seated Buddha. Historically, the status of the temple was relatively high. Zhu Qizhen, Emperor Yingzong of the Ming Dynasty, once inscribed the name of the temple. Most of the temples today were rebuilt in the 1990s.

There are several main buildings in the temple, such as the Shanmen, the Daxiong Hall, the Five Hundred Arhat Hall, and the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Hall. Visit them one by one.

The more important landscapes mainly include the Daxiong Hall and the Hall of Five Hundred Arhats. The Daxiong Palace is a loft-style high-rise all-wooden building. The whole body is red and very beautiful. You can take pictures and visit it outside. The building enshrines the famous Buddha of the whole temple, that is, the seated statue of Sakyamuni, which is 35 meters high. The hands, feet, chest and face of the seated Buddha are covered with pure gold, and the golden light is shining. After climbing to the top of the building, you can also look at the scenery of the reservoir in the distance, and the view is very wide.
