Shangri-La (Zhongdian) Alpine Botanical Garden covers an area of ​​7,247 hectares and is located around Shangri-La County, covering the original subalpine bright coniferous forest and alpine dark coniferous forest areas on both sides of the Shuodogang River. There are more than 900 species of native higher plants in the garden, including the national key protected plants of alpine water leek, Yulong fern, peach seven, pearl ginseng, Zhongdian hawthorn, etc. The types of secondary vegetation include alpine pine forest, deciduous broad-leaved forest, hard-leaved alpine oak forest and shrubs, limestone mountain shrubs, and subalpine meadows.
