Shanhai Art Museum is located in the west of Kunming City. The meaning of "mountain and sea" comes from its location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, leaping above the mountain; and because it is located at the northern end of the Dianchi Lake water system, the city, water body, and mountains are all in sight. The stone forest between the sites is undoubtedly a unique scenery in Yunnan. From the architect's point of view, using columnar, sheet-like, and cluster-like entities to enclose an unstable space with rich changes in width, narrowness, and height is a major point of interest in the design.
