Foding Mountain is located at the junction of Shiqian County and Shibing County. The main peak is located in Shiqian County, north of Shibing County, about 30 kilometers away from the county. Foding Mountain covers an area of more than 200 square kilometers, including 160 square kilometers in Shiqian County, 25 square kilometers in Shibing County, 10 square kilometers in Zhenyuan County, 5 square kilometers in Yuqing County, and 5 square kilometers in Shibing County. In the territory, it is customarily called Shi Bing Foding Mountain. Foding Mountain in Shiqian County is a provincial nature reserve. On August 7, 2013, the provincial people's government reported to the State Council to declare a national nature reserve. The planned area of the national reserve is exactly 152.8 square kilometers in Shiqian County. At present, the National Nature Reserve Review Committee has accepted the application, and is carrying out satellite monitoring of interference from human activities. Part of Shibing County is currently a county-level nature reserve, but it has not been recognized by the Provincial Forestry Department.
