Shimen Dam is the highest concrete double-curvature arch dam in the country in the early 1970s. The dam is 88 meters high, the arc length is 254 meters, and the installed capacity of the power station is 44,730 kilowatts. The new area has 515,000 mu of farmland. Since its completion, it has made important contributions to the industrial and agricultural development, social stability, and flood control and disaster reduction of Hanzhong City. It is called "Life Bank" and "Mother Bank" by the Hanzhong people.
