Hanzhong Shimen Reservoir is a large-scale reservoir mainly for irrigation, taking into account power generation, flood control, and fish farming. It is named because its dam is located at Shimen, an ancient plank road in the south entrance of Baogu, Hanzhong City. It has beautiful scenery and rich historical sites. The ruins of "Baoxie Road, Shimen and its cliff carvings" listed as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units by the State Council are here. The reservoir dam is bow-shaped and tightens between the two mountains. The drainage area above the dam is 3,861 square kilometers. Baogu Mountain is precipitous, strange rocks are towering, and emerald peaks stand tall. Wang Wanxiang, a literati in the Qing Dynasty, summed up the "Twenty-Four Views of Shimen" here. The completion of Shimen Reservoir made Baogu even more perfect. The reservoir dam is 88 meters high, with a top length of 260 meters and a magnificent shape. The lake is rippling, and you can enjoy the scenery of the lake and the mountains by taking cruise ships and speedboats on the 17-kilometer-long lake. There are many kinds of aquatic waterfowl here, among which giant salamanders, soft-shelled turtles and egrets are the most precious. Near Shimen, there are more than 100 cliff stone carvings inscribed by literati since the Han Dynasty. They are the soul treasure of the country "Shimen Thirteen Products", which is called "Hanzhong Shimen, Japan's teacher" by the Japanese calligraphy circles; among them, Cao Cao's "Gunxue ", Zhang Liang's "Jade Basin", Zheng Zizhen's "Stone Tiger" is vigorous and smooth, and his brushwork is smooth. "Ode to the Stone Gate" and "Shimen Ming" have been regarded as models of Chinese calligraphy since ancient times; these stone carvings are now mostly collected in the Hanzhong City Museum. . The Lianyun plank road on the mountainside of Liancheng is lined with stone carvings along the way. Baosi Shop, which is now submerged underwater, is said to be the hometown of Baosi, a beautiful woman who died in the Western Zhou Dynasty.
