Shimenkan is located in the northwest corner of Guizhou near the edge of Sichuan and Yunnan. It is a tiny place with relatively poor material life.
It used to be a high cultural area of the Miao people in Southwest China. It created the native language of the Miao people, ending the history of the Miao people without characters for thousands of years; it initiated and practiced Chinese-Miao bilingual teaching in China;
