The Shin Kong Life Insurance skyscraper is referred to as "Shin Kong Tower" for short. It is located on Zhongxiao West Road, adjacent to Taipei Main Station. It is one of the landmark tall buildings in downtown Taipei. The building was completed in 1993, with 51 floors above ground and 7 floors underground, with a total height of 244.15 meters. After the completion of Kaohsiung 85 Building and Taipei 101, it became the third tallest building in Taiwan. The 1st to 13th floors of the building are Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store Taipei Station, and the observatory on the 46th floor originally had a panoramic view of Taipei, but it should not be open to the public at present.
