Shuyuanmen Pedestrian Street is located on the east side of the South Gate (Yongning Gate) of the ancient city. The "Guanzhong Academy", the school of Shaanxi in the Ming and Qing dynasties, is located on this street. Beside the quaint streets, there are calligraphy and painting shops and small shops dealing in the Four Treasures of the Study everywhere.

When you turn from South Street to this street, you will suddenly feel quiet. The street is lined with blue and antique buildings, with bluestone paving at your feet, and tall locust trees everywhere. There are hundreds of shops on the street of only more than 500 meters, selling "souvenirs" that are sold in all major tourist attractions across the country.
