Located in Lameng Township, Longling County, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, it is the main battlefield of the Anti-Japanese War in western Yunnan during World War II and one of the sites of the Songshan Battle. Songshan is located on the west bank of the Nujiang River, with an altitude of 2,200 meters on the top of the mountain. It is an important throat of the Burma Highway, known as "Gibraltar". After crossing the Nujiang River via the Huitong Bridge, the famous Yunnan-Burma Highway circles the cliffs of the mountain for more than 40 kilometers. There is a trend of "one man guards the gate, ten thousand men cannot open it". After the Japanese invading army occupied Longling in May 1942, heavy troops were stationed there. From June to September 1944, our anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians fought bloody battles and wiped out more than 3,000 Japanese troops. Due to the special status and significance of the Songshan Battle in western Yunnan and the entire Anti-Japanese War, it was listed as a provincial-level key cultural relics protection unit in 1993, and special funds were allocated to restore the Anti-Japanese Soldiers Cemetery and other relics, and four sign monuments and eighteen monuments were built. A monument describing the ruins and a road up the mountain. In November 1998, Songshan was announced as a patriotic education base in Yunnan Province.
