Nanchangtan Village is a long and narrow river beach formed by the erosion and deposition of the Heishan Gorge of the Yellow River. Surrounded by mountains, it is almost isolated from the world. The Tuobazhai people in the village were moved here by the Tuo clan of the Xixia Dangxiang clan to escape the war. Over hundreds of years, they have built a primitive village with an outdoor peach garden with their sweat.
Nanchangtan Village is located in the deep mountains in the west of Zhongwei. The Yellow River in Nanchangtan turns a big bend here, forming a crescent-shaped long beach on the south bank of the river, called Nanchangtan.
