Sifang Street is located in the center of the ancient city of Lijiang, with a rectangular shape. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was a commercial hub in Northwest Yunnan and a trading center on the Ancient Tea-Horse Road. Today, it is still the bustling city of Lijiang Old Town, with dense shops, restaurants, and bars, and a throng of tourists. It is a lively landmark in the ancient city.
In Sifang Street, no matter it is day or night, you will not feel silent. During the day, tourists linger here, locals meet here, and a group of Naxi old ladies in national costumes dance here every afternoon. At night, this is a place of joy. You can dance around the bonfire, or swing along to the rhythm of wandering singers. You can do whatever you want and be free.
The center of Sifang Street extends to four main streets, which are Qiyi Street, Wuyi Street, Xinhua Street and Dongda Street. Each street is divided into many small streets and alleys, which are connected and extend in all directions. There are many snack restaurants around Sifang Street, and you can eat a lot of Naxi specialties when you just stroll around. Xinhua Street next to Sifang Street is the bar street in Lijiang. Every night, the bar street is brightly lit and lively.
