In the middle of the southern end of the recreation square in Shihezi City, there stands a large statue of General Wang Zhen. It was built to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and to commemorate the great pioneers of my country's military reclamation cause. It was created by the famous Chinese sculptor Professor Ye Yushan.
The sculpture was completed at the end of September 1994. It consists of a full-body forged bronze statue of General Wang Zhen and a granite rock horse. The entire sculpture is 8.5 meters high, symbolizing the 85-year-old general Wang Zhen. In terms of character processing, the sculptor, with his profound artistic skills and rich creative experience, took the head of General Wang Zhen in the early 1950s as the prototype, and based on the facial shape of his middle and later years, he carried out artistic processing. The granite rock horse has a vigorous physique, thick mane and fluttering long tail. It is not only a natural portrayal of horseback riding at that time, but also an artistic symbol of the general's military career. The whole sculpture is a combination of copper and stone, with clear primary and secondary, a seamless whole, mighty and magnificent.
