Yu Chigong (585-658 A.D.), courtesy name Jingde, was born in Shanyang, Shuozhou (now Shuocheng District, Shanxi). He was a general of the Tang Dynasty and one of the twenty-four heroes of Lingyan Pavilion. Weapons: single whip, Zhangba spear. Car: Treading snow and black horse. It is said that its face is like black charcoal.
Yuchi Gong and Qin Qiong are two traditional door gods in China. At the end of the Sui Dynasty, Yuchi Jingde joined the army in Gaoyang. In the thirteenth year of Daye's reign in the Sui Dynasty, Liu Wuzhou recruited Luo Yuchi Jingde as a partial general, invaded the south with King Kong of Song Dynasty, and fell into the two prefectures of Jin and Hui. Yuchi Jingde defeated Yong'an Wang Xiaoji, and captured Gu Huai'en, Tang Jian and others. In the third year of Wude, Tang Taizong conquered Liu Wuzhou, and Liu Wuzhou ordered Yuchi Jingde and Song Jingang to resist in Jiexiu. Taizong sent Rencheng Wang Daozong and Yuwen Shi to persuade him to surrender. Yuchi Jingde and Xun Xiang raised the city and surrendered. Taizong Dayue gave a banquet of music and was cited as the commanding army of Youyifu.
In the ninth year of Wude (626), the change of Xuanwu Gate helped Li Shimin seize the throne. He served as the general manager of Jingzhou Road Marching. In his later years, he believed in alchemy, but Du went out.
