Shimen Scenic Area is a national water conservancy scenic area, located at the mouth of Baohe Valley. The scenery here is beautiful, and there are many historic sites, such as Baoxie Road, Shimen and its cliff stone carvings, which are national key cultural relics protection units. Baogu Shimen is a natural museum. Since the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, this has been the hub of communication between the Central Plains, Northwest and Southwest. The ancient plank road erected on the "difficult to go to the blue sky" road can be called a miracle of ancient transportation, and Shimen is the most dangerous and strange part of the plank road. Now the newly built antique plank road is flying on the steep cliff, tracing the vicissitudes of history. Baogu Mountain is precipitous, strange rocks are towering, and emerald peaks stand tall. Wang Wanxiang, a literati in the Qing Dynasty, summed up the "Twenty-Four Views of Shimen" here. The completion of Shimen Reservoir made Baogu even more perfect. The reservoir dam is 88 meters high, with a top length of 260 meters and a magnificent shape. The lake is rippling, and you can enjoy the scenery of the lake and the mountains by taking cruise ships and speedboats on the 17-kilometer-long lake. In the Shimen Scenic Area, there are more than 100 cliff carvings inscribed by literati since the Han Dynasty. They are the soul treasures of the country "Shimen Thirteen Products", which are called "Hanzhong Shimen, the teacher of Japan" by the Japanese calligraphy circles; among them, Cao Cao's "Shimen Gun Snow", Zhang Liang's "Jade Pot", and Zheng Zizhen's "Stone Tiger" are vigorous and vigorous, with smooth brushwork.
