The Sui and Tang City Ruins Botanical Garden was founded in December 2005 and is located at the Sui and Tang Luoyang City Ruins. The garden is based on the zonal plants in western Henan and the culture of the Sui and Tang Dynasties. It adheres to the combination of scientific protection and rational use. It is an important place for tourists and citizens to enjoy flowers.
There are 17 special parks in the park, including Qianzi Peony Garden, Wild Interest Waterscape Garden, Mulanqiong Garden, Baicao Garden, Plum Garden, Bamboo Garden, and Osmanthus Garden, with more than 2,000 plant species. Among them, the Qianzi Peony Garden is composed of Hundred Gardens, Nine Colors Garden, Characteristic Garden and Science and Technology Demonstration Garden. More than 1,200 varieties of peonies in nine colors and more than 270,000 plants are planted. At the same time, through artistic techniques such as setting stones and garden sketches, in the form of couplets and carvings, the poems and allusions praising Luoyang peony are fully displayed, which enriches the cultural connotation of peony.
