The National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall is located in the center of Taipei and is the memorial hall of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. Today, it is mostly used for cultural performances or award ceremonies, and it is a large-scale performance venue.

Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall is divided into five areas, including Memorial Hall, Green Lake, Zhongshan Park, Zhongshan Forest of Steles and Zhongshan Park Square. The building is three stories high, and each floor has its own independent function. On the north side of the first floor is a large assembly hall, with a lecture hall, Zhongshan Lecture Hall, and Yixian Bookstore; on the second floor is the Zhongshan Gallery and Dr. Sun Yat-sen Library, which often invites well-known artists to exhibit here; on the third floor is the Yixian Gallery, Deming Art Gallery and Yixian Screening Room; Cuiheng Art Gallery, Zaizhixuan, Cuixi Art Gallery, Book and Newspaper Reading Room, and Audio-Visual Center on the first basement floor.

There is a bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen on the south side of the first floor of the memorial hall. There is a guard on each side of the bronze statue, which is served by the honor guards of the army, sea and air forces in rotation. Every day at the changing of the guard ceremony on the hour, a non-commissioned officer will lead two changing guards, stepping forward with their legs raised, stepping into the hall from the left side of the hall, and marching to the front to salute the father of the nation. The guards on guard stepped down from their sentry posts and lined up with the guards who received them to complete a series of actions such as gun inspection. After saluting the statue of Mr. Sun Yat-sen, the guards who received them walked to their sentry posts. The whole process took about 15 minutes, and the movements were uniform .

Outside the memorial hall is a green lake with weeping willows swaying in the wind; there is also a 120-meter-long health trail paved with Hualien's special dark green pebbles; Zhongshan Park is one of the parks loved by local residents.
