Tagong Temple is located in Tagong Township, Kangding County, Ganzi Prefecture. Its full name is "Ruyi Jietuo Temple", which is a temple of the Sakya Sect of Tibetan Buddhism, which has a history of more than one thousand years. There is a statue of Sakyamuni that is the same as the Jokhang Temple in the temple. Legend has it that Princess Wencheng passed through this place on her way to Tibet, and imitated carrying a statue of Sakyamuni to build a temple for worship. The Tagong Temple is composed of the Daxiong Hall, the Relic Hall, the Sakyamuni Hall, the Guanyin Hall, the Achievement Pagoda Hall, the Lotus Hall, the Pagoda Forest, the monk's house and the "Prayer Wheel" that circles the temple.

The Daxiong Hall is the main place for monks to chant scriptures and practice Dharma. There are many murals around the hall, which are precious Buddhist cultural relics. The Sakyamuni Hall enshrines the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha made by Princess Wencheng, the footprints left on the stone by King Bhaspa, the national teacher of the Yuan Dynasty, and a thousand-armed Avalokitesvara about one meter high. Holy statue, this statue of Guanyin was shaped by Princess Wencheng for the benefit of all living beings. The raw materials used to shape the holy statue were the sacred mountains and waters and a lot of jewelry in the Han-Tibetan area at that time.

The Avalokitesvara Hall is dedicated to the gilded bronze statue of Avalokitesvara with Thousand Hands and Thousand Eyes in Tibet, which was completed in 1997. The Achievement Pagoda is said to have been built by the great achiever Coqin Garan with magic power, enshrining the cane and sacred objects of the Indian eminent monk "Cooqin Garan". The Lotus Hall is dedicated to the eighth number of Guru Rinpoche and the three bodies of Manjushri. The temple also houses the Buddha tooth of "Sangji Quba" (the ancient Buddha of Kasyapa), the Dharma bell used by the great achievements of India in the 12th century, and the gold-plated bronze Buddha presented to the temple by Basiba, the national teacher of the Yuan Dynasty. , There are also many precious Buddhist cultural relics and Sakya sect's legal codes preserved in the temple, which are precious treasures that are rarely seen on weekdays.

Every year in the middle and late June of the Tibetan calendar, the temple will hold grand Buddhist ceremonies and god dancing activities, and the scene is grand and grand. From mid-July to early August, the annual dam-playing activity will be held on the Tagong Grassland, during which there will be folk activities, singing and dancing programs, and colorful tents on the grassland, which is very lively.
