In the middle of the garden is Sun Moon Lake, with blue waves rippling in the lake. There is a small island in the middle of the lake, and a long bridge leads to the shore. In the middle of the lake is the Huxin Pavilion, with red tiles and white walls. It was built in the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. It is listed as a designated historic site in Taichung along with the Zhongshan Bridge near Taichung Park.
There is also a Paotai Mountain next to the Sun Moon Lake, and there is a Moon Pavilion on the mountain, which is the remains of the north gate tower of the old city of Taichung City. The gate tower of the entire pavilion stands on four pillars, simple and solemn, with raised heads and overhanging eaves, which is very spectacular. There is a huge plaque of "Music and Yingshen" hanging in the middle of the gate tower. In addition, there are various pavilions and monuments to anti-Japanese heroes on Paotai Mountain.
The park is full of green grass and swaying trees, and many cute animals walk through the park. You can see a lot of locals running, students taking graduation photos, and couples falling in love, which is very lifelike. In addition, there are open-air music stations and children's play facilities in the park, attracting many families to travel with their children.
