Taipei Tianhou Temple was originally named Xinxing Palace. The original site of Taipei Tianhou Temple was Mengka Zhixing Street (now the intersection of Guiyang Street and Xiyuan Road). It was built in the eleventh year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. During the Qing Dynasty, there were three temple gates in Mengka.
