Taishan Temple is also known as Taishan Longquan Temple. According to legend, in the Northern Han Dynasty, there was a mountain man Shi Gandang who was famous for his bravery, and the mountain where he lived was also famous all over the world. The name of the temple comes from the homonym of "Taishan Shigandang".

According to records, Longquan Temple was originally the Haotian Temple of Taoism. It was first built in the first year of Tang Jingyun (710) and was destroyed by the Jin and Yuan wars. Tongzi and other 5 temples were merged. Longquan Temple in Mount Tai faces south from the north, and the halls and pavilions are built according to the mountain situation, with uneven heights and spread out layer by layer. Outside the mountain gate is a large flat land, and the foundation of the cave-style Lelou still exists today. The gate of the mountain is suspended on the top of the mountain, and the forehead is called "ancient temple in the mountains and forests".

The bells and drum towers on the left and right wings of the temple are made of brick and wood. The iron bell on the bell tower was recast in the tenth year of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty (1745), and it is still intact. The main hall is five rooms wide and two rooms deep, with two floors. The bottom floor is a brick cave dwelling dedicated to Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva; the upper floor is a brick and wood structure hall originally dedicated to Buddha Sakyamuni. In the backyard of Longquan Temple, there are three octagonal pointed buildings juxtaposed, namely the three halls of Guanyin, Manjusri and Puxian.
