The Taiwan Marine Biology Museum, referred to as the Marine Life Museum, is the largest aquarium in Taiwan, divided into three exhibition halls: the Taiwan Waters Pavilion, the Coral Kingdom Pavilion and the World Waters Pavilion. The Taiwan Waters Pavilion simulates the ecological environment of Taiwan’s main island and nearby waters in a real-scene way, including 15 display themes such as entrance waterfalls, mountain streams, oyster farming, rocky shore intertidal zone, touch pool, Nanwan coral reefs, and fish exploration. The biggest feature here is the ocean pool. The viewing window is 16.5 meters wide and 4.85 meters high. The thickness of the poolside glass is about 33 centimeters thick, and there are three-tailed whale sharks in it. The Coral Kingdom Pavilion mainly displays the ecology of tropical coral reefs. Visiting the 84-meter-long submarine tunnel is like diving deep into the South China Sea to hunt for treasures. Dozens of corals and more than 200 kinds of colorful fish shuttle around you in various colors. In addition to the World Waters Pavilion and the Coral Kingdom Pavilion, which can view underwater creatures through tempered glass, the World Waters Pavilion also uses 3D imaging to allow visitors to watch hard-to-reach waters and underwater animals. The World Waters Pavilion of the Marine Life Museum allows visitors to travel between the virtual and the real through multiple displays and applications, and there are many large physical specimens on the exhibition hall, which are very visual for adults and children. There are also displays of macroalgae up to 10 meters high, allowing visitors to experience the shock of macroalgae that can grow up to 50 cm per day. The Marine Life Museum arranges several performances at fixed times every day, including special performances such as seals, beluga whales, and penguins. There is also a sea-view restaurant in the Haisheng Hall, which is an ocean-themed buffet restaurant on the second floor. While enjoying delicious dishes and meals, you can enjoy the vast sea view and eat comfortably.
