In Tang'an Village, Zhaoxing Township, Liping County. It is a cultural cooperation project between the Chinese government and the government of the Kingdom of Norway. In December 1999, it was approved for construction by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It covers an area of 744 square meters and a construction area of 408 square meters. It was completed and opened on June 6, 2005. It is one of the ecological museum groups in Guizhou.
Tang'an Dong Ecological Museum is located on a half-hillside 5 kilometers east of Zhaoxing Town, Liping County, Qiandongnan, Guizhou Province. It consists of a data information center and a heritage protection area - Tang'an Village.
Tang'an Village is located on the hillside of Nongbao Mountain, with an altitude of 935 meters. It is basically arranged parallel to the contour line of the mountain, with scattered heights and dense density.
The dwellings all adopt the traditional dry railing architectural form, with long fir columns piercing the square frame, standing on the hillside, with suspended feet, naturally combined and orderly. The ground floor is elevated, where sundries are piled up, stone slabs are set up, or livestock are raised; the second floor has a corridor, firepit and bedrooms; the attic on the top floor can store grain. The interior space is spacious, and almost every house has long corridors, which can be used for spinning and weaving, making wooden utensils, weaving baskets, receiving guests, and enjoying meals in the shade.
The eco-museum data and information center is dedicated to collecting, organizing and researching the ecology, history and culture of the Dong nationality, and showing the development process of the Dong nationality culture through physical display, image performance and audio-visual storage.
The newly built data and information center building shows the architectural cultural characteristics of the Dong nationality, and is harmoniously integrated into the entire building group of Tang'an Village.
