Tanhua Temple, also known as Tanhua Temple, is located at the foot of Jinma Mountain in the eastern suburbs of Kunming City. It was first built during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty. It is named after a 300-year-old Tan tree in the temple.

Tanhua Temple is famous for its luxuriant flowers and trees, especially magnolias and camellias in summer and autumn, and cyclamen in winter and spring. The camellias in March every year are even more spectacular and fascinating. Now Tanhua Temple has become a secluded garden complex, where tourists can enjoy the beautiful flowers, or climb up Ruiying Pagoda to enjoy the scenery of Kunming.
