On the banks of the Longchuan River in Tengchong County, Yunnan Province, there stands a large columnar crystal formed by the condensation of magma that was not exposed to the surface during the volcanic eruption. It is called "columnar joint" in geology, and the locals call it vividly. "Divine Pillar". "Shenzhu" is a large-scale, well-preserved and short-lived columnar joint discovered so far in my country. When the magma erupts, the temperature is 1200°C. When the magma cools down to 800-900°C, the magma crystallizes and forms columnar joints. Because the magma contains minerals such as plagioclase, olivine, hornblende, and pyroxene in hexagonal columns, it forms hexagonal columns after cooling, which is called columnar joints. Known as the "Volcanic Geological Museum", Tengchong County has more than 70 volcanic sites. Located in Qushi Township, this "columnar joint" covers an area of about 2 square kilometers and was formed about 40,000 years ago. The "stone pillars" tens of meters long are quite spectacular. The intact existence of this volcanic geological wonder not only adds a unique tourist landscape to the local area, but also has important scientific value for the study of volcanic magma generation and geological structure.
